Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, or unsure why certain emotional or relational patterns seem to repeat in their lives. You might find yourself having strong feelings that are difficult to manage, struggling in relationships, or carrying a sense that something isn’t quite right, even if it’s hard to put into words. Therapy can offer a place to slow things down and begin to understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

I’m an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with a background in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy. I offer a calm, thoughtful, and supportive space where you can speak openly and reflect at your own pace about whatever feels most important to you. You don’t need to arrive with clear answers or a defined goal — we can begin wherever you are.

My way of working is rooted in the understanding that our present-day feelings, relationships, and difficulties are often shaped by earlier experiences and patterns that may sit outside of conscious awareness. In therapy, we gently explore how these patterns continue to influence your life now — including how they may emerge within the therapeutic relationship itself. Over time, this process can help bring greater clarity, ease emotional distress, and open up new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I have experience working with people who are struggling with anxiety, anger, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship and attachment difficulties, bereavement, identity concerns, low self-esteem, existential questions, chronic illness and health issues and major life transitions. Some people come with a specific difficulty they want to focus on, while others arrive with a more general sense of unease or confusion — both are very welcome.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the NHS for a number of years, supporting people through some of the most frightening and vulnerable moments of their lives. This experience continues to inform my practice and my respect for the courage it takes to seek support.

I aim to offer a steady, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard and held in your experience. Therapy with me is collaborative, and we move at a pace that feels manageable for you, with the intention of fostering meaningful and lasting change.

I hold a Master’s degree (MA) in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have also undertaken additional specialist training in areas including; issues around identity, addiction-related difficulties, disordered eating, coping with baby loss and infertility, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and supporting individuals with autism and ADHD.
